2010 and 2011 - Full of blessings

Stepping in 2012, I have been counting God's graces to me in the past two years.

20/20

I got Lasik in February 2010. The surgery succeeded and I got my 20/20 eye sight back after having contact lenses and glasses for 20 years! (Special thanks to hubby and Melody for keeping me company during my surgery!)

job/no job

I was thinking to change my working environment by getting another job. At some point, an weird idea popped up; "it would not be a bad thing if I got laid off before I accept a new job coz I can get a package." In April 2010, the company I have been worked for 10 years announced to close down and everyone got our package. Amazingly, I was so lucky to get two job offers before my last day. (I can finally say bye to the instrument which has given me lots of problems!)

Pui and Hannah

I visited my sis, bro-in-law, and my niece in Oct 2011; and they came visited me in Dec 2011. We had good time! My niece is always so cute and lovely!

Pregnancy

I got pregnant in Oct 2011. We have been praying for half a year for a baby who will love God, be healthy, be happy, be long-lived than us, and a baby boy (optional).
I was so down in Oct; and I knew emotion and getting pregnant were somehow related. So, I said to my husband that if I could get pregnant, the baby must be sent from God. Two weeks after I said that, I suddenly had a feeling that I might get pregnant. And the result was positive! This baby is given by God!

Healing

In one of my regular checkups on baby, the doctor told me that the ultrasound showe fluid inside baby's brain. The doctor was not sure if the fluid is related to Down Syndrome, he suggested us a few times to have amniocentesis which might cause 0.5% - 1.0% miscarriage. Since we don't want to take any risk to lost God's gift, we denied. To be honest, I have been so worried that I have prayed so hard on the baby's health. But all the sudden, I realized how less faith I had in God. Half year before I got pregnant, we have been praying for the baby. I was sure that God listened to our prayers; and the baby was the gift from Him. However, apparently, I didn't have enough faith in God's promises, so I worried too much that I did not even want to share the good news with others. I truly repented! I should have gloried and praised God by spreading the good news. Thank God that I still had chance to correct my mistake.
We had a followup ultrasound two weeks later, the fluid inside the baby's brain got smaller. Four weeks later, the fluid was gone. Praise the Lord for healing the baby by His almighty hands!

Pregnancy

haven't updated my blog for a long time. it was because i was pregnant!! pregnancy is not as easy as i thought....

in the first trimester, my baby seemed to draw all of my energy, so that i did not have any energy to do anything, including my favorite activity, shopping. i was so tired that i did not even want to talk on a phone. i would think that it was depression if i did not know the pregnancy. i did not vomit but always had that feeling. i could not eat much as well. if i ate 'too much', i would have the vomitting feeling. i think insufficient intake was one of the reasons for tiredness.

i could eat more during the second trimester. that's the period i gained so much weight from. it was a honey moon trimester. the belly was not too big, so that i could move freely and i got my appetite back. my appetite has changed during pregnancy. i got so sensitive to tastes including MSG. vegetable, beef, chicken, pork, with spiked of salt and fruits were my favorite. since i was so sensitive to MSG, so i have not had chinese and korean food for a while. somehow, i could eat very spicy again and my stomach did not complain at all.

at the third trimester, i was diagnosed as gestational diabetes, so i needed to see nutritionist for my daily diet, and i needed to punch my finger tips four times a day to monitor my sugar level. it is kind of hard for a person who loves starch and sweet. leg cramping and finger joint pain happened during this period.

any of the above suffers are worthy because God gave me a healthy, lovely, awesome baby boy!! and the bonus are being treated like a queen by my husband and having my skin and hair in good condition! overall, my pregnancy and delivery were smooth by God's grace.

P.S. We had moved and repaired the roof of our current house during pregnancy. before actions were taken, i was warned that we should not do any of those while i was pregnant according to some 風水. but the fact is, God's grace has guided us through and protected me and baby all the times. i have to say that i beileve in God rather than those 風水父.

Lost and Found

My husband is not a romantics man. He seldom says 'I love you'. Less than one time per year. When I said that to him, he would replied, 'me too', 'ok', 'um'...

This cell phone and the key chain were lost two weeks after our wedding but they appeared again recently.

I left my cell phone with the key chain at the airport security check point. Since the airport is kinda far away from home, it takes too much effort to get it back. So, I just got another one.

Two and half years later, they showed up amazingly!

When my hubby knew that I left my cell and key chain at the airport, he got it back without letting me know. He wanted to surprised me; however, at the time he received it, I already decided to get a new cell phone.

Now, he thought I might need the phone again, so he started telling me the story.

I asked him why he did not tell me at the beginning. He said the reason for him to get the phone back from the airport is because he thought I would be happy to see it again. However, when he knew that I was happy with my new one, he decided to keep my happiness growing.

I always complained that he is not romantics and seldom says 'I love you' to me, but what he has done to me is really touching.

Jelly Belly

My coworker gave me a box of jelly beans. Although I don't like candy that much, it is so fun to eat....

It is not usual candy:

an important rule i learnt after years of GMP working experience: always read the label first!
each color comes with two very different favors. one is tasty but another is nasty....
i haven't tried them all yet but I can tell you that the rotten egg favor made me almost threw up...

it is hard to pick one after you read the description on the box, so this one comes with a spin wheel:

very colorful jelly beans. drooling?

let it decide your fate....hohoho:
